ABSTRACT

This chapter is the result of a collaborative discussion within a project, that of MOHD. 1 The experiences of action research that we both brought to the project are different, partly because we work and have worked in very different institutions: one is a regional centre for innovation and in-service teacher training and the other, a national centre for educational research. Both these institutions are dependent upon the Ministry of Education. 2 In these contexts we have taken part in action research projects as facilitators and as outside researchers, developing a second order reflection on our own roles and professional practice (Elliott, 1991).
