ABSTRACT

The topic of teachers’ thinking about scientific concepts has been increasingly studied recently. It is of great importance for both the design of pre-and in-service teacher training courses and for what actually takes place in school classrooms. Research on in-service teachers’ thinking has demonstrated that teachers’ attitudes and beliefs influence their perception and understanding of classroom events and may, therefore, affect their classroom behaviour (Clark, 1989).
