ABSTRACT

I was first introduced to IMAPCT as part of an in-service course by the London Borough of Barnet under the title ‘Organization and Integration in the Infant School’. This course sought to offer of forum for ideas, discussion and eventual implementation of a wide-ranging early years education provision. The challenge was to analyze not only the role of the teacher, but the ways in which parents can participate as an integral part of their children’s learning, sharing experiences and hopefully gaining an insight into what we, as educators, are trying to achieve.
