ABSTRACT
Socrates understood the value of sharp questioning in developing learning and higher-level thought and a large part of many lessons will be spent on ‘Q and A’. Strategic use of questions in the classroom can provide the best examples of learning and play a vital part in classroom management. Poorly used, however, they can result in dull lessons, where a few students dominate in a teacher-led quiz.
