ABSTRACT

Furthermore: ‘Asia is a geographic vastness and variety. It comprises one-fifth of the world’s total land area. It embraces an extreme of topographical features: deserts, forests, mountains, plants…and extremes climates are registered.’3 Not only this, but the recognized boundaries of Asia

embrace some 17 million square miles of continental landmasses, main lands, and outlying archipelagos. Overall, they range 5,000 miles north to south and 6,000 miles east to west. Asia is separated from Europe by the Ural Mountains and the Caspian and Black Seas, and from Africa by the Suez Isthmus.4
