ABSTRACT

This headship saw a different style of leadership again. Staff meetings at eight forty-five on Monday mornings became the norm. After being in the school a fortnight the head wrote of a staff meeting in the logbook:

Without a 100 per cent attendance at that time. This was followed by a visit to the entrance to the school to check pupil promptness. A large number of pupils still moving into the school at 9.00 a.m. There appears to be an obvious need to question existing standards of timekeeping at all levels.
