ABSTRACT
As each political party denounced the result I wondered what action each would take to ensure that there would never be a repeat of this disgraceful situation. I wondered also how many of the 1,480 people who voted for the BNP were Catholics? We know from Fr Hynes, parish priest in the area, that ‘some stalwart Catholic parishioners are also very racist’.
