ABSTRACT

In April 1991 the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales, following a report from their Committee for Other Faiths, commissioned a study on the issue of ‘The Catholic School and Other Faiths’.1 This report was presented to the full Bishops’ Conference at their meeting in November 1994 and warmly welcomed by them. The Conference decided that, with some minor modifications, the report should be made available to a wider audience of professionals with a view to initiating a nationwide study at every level of the issues that arise regarding the relationship that Catholic Schools have with other faiths.
