ABSTRACT
1. ‘Furthermore, Lord of the Secret Ones, all these are syllables that accomplish the samādhi method and if transformed by this emptiness, you will become just like the Perfect Buddha, who has mastery over all phenomena.’ ‘Therefore, the letter is the deity A ; A, the supreme state surrounded by the letters, illumines everywhere.’ ‘That deity is without attributes, free from ground and attribute; yet from the deity without attributes these attributes emerge.’ ‘All the Protectors have taught that from the sound, the letters arise, and from the letters, the mantras arise, and from the mantras, the results arise.’ ‘You should know sound to be empty, just as [space] does not think of all the kinds of beings, therefore all of it is empty.’ ‘There is also sound which is not empty, and its applications are manifested. One who comprehends that sound [will attain] the bases of the deities and the samādhi; since the yoga of laying out the letters is manifested by the letters, it becomes the basis for the conventional designations that are the multitudes of mantras.’
