ABSTRACT

Muslim b. al-Hajjāj, Abū '1-Husayn (c. 202/817-261/875) Very famous compiler of hadīth (q.v.). His collection, called the Sahīh, is almost as famous as that of al-Bukhārī (q.v.). Indeed, the two collections together are called 'The Two Sahhīs' (alSahīhān). Muslim's collection of hadīth ranks among the six major collections.
