ABSTRACT

Badminton is a racket sport played on a relatively small court using a shuttlecock rather than a ball. It is both psychologically (Jones, 1995) and physiologically demanding and typically involves more severe injuries than most other sports (Hoy et al., 1995). The most frequent shots tend to be fast stretching movements called lunges (Smith and Lees, 1995) that involve forces applied to the ground which can lead to high forces in the lower limb musculature (Lees and Hurley, 1995).
