ABSTRACT

As a committed teacher educator, I am concerned with using assessment strategies in more effective ways to enhance students’ learning. In the past years of my teaching career, I have tended to rely on self-reflection, which I found useful to improve my teaching, and is in line with recommendations from the professional literature (e.g., Bartlett, 1990; Schön, 1983, 1987). As I started to use action research as a means to examine and improve my teaching, I found myself intrigued with this interesting and practical method of research inquiry. The experience turned out to be rewarding and enlightening for me and for the students who were involved in this study.
