ABSTRACT
The challenge to spatial criminology is in explaining why crime is happening exactly where it is happening. Generally, we can approach this problem by addressing three separate but inter-related questions:
Where in geographical space do offenders start their journeys to crime?
How do they decide on the route for these journeys?
How do they choose the destination (i.e. the target)?
