ABSTRACT

Professor Drucker, your letter implies that, at a time when the world is undergoing massive change, private enterprises, workers, executives and the general public of industrialized countries must be prepared to reject traditionally-held beliefs and notions and make their own efforts to better society and the economy. This is no doubt a daunting and difficult prospect for some. It is also a highly challenging task. We, the executives of Japan, must tackle the challenge with courage and sagacity, rather than useless pessimism about the future.
