ABSTRACT

Notwithstanding a fair amount of discussion and academic work, human rights-based approaches to development (HRBAD) have not yet taken institutional root. HRBAD remains an area of contestation and there seems to be some HRBAD fatigue, as its feasibility and added value appear problematic. This edited volume sheds new light on HRBAD discussions by introducing a theory-of-change perspective and by zooming in on a number of specific contexts and approaches.
