ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with electrical shock-an explanation of how it occurs in the body and some of the newer techniques (e.g., automated external defibrillators [AEDs]) to revive a victim of electrical shock. It is important, must-read material for all broadcast engineers and anyone who may encounter an electrical shock victim. In this chapter, Anne Devine discusses the immediate treatment using an AED, then Clifford D. Ferris provides general information about electrical shock.
