ABSTRACT

So far, we’ve learned a lot about working in Avid Media Composer-through editing, organizing, applying effects and titles, adjusting audio, and color-correcting media-but it has always been by using media that have already been input into Avid. Now that you hopefully have confi dence about working in the editing environment, we’re going to drop back to the fi rst stage in the editing process and discuss how to actually bring media into a new or existing project. Specifi cally, we’ll touch upon how to import fi les, access fi les via Avid Media Access (AMA) workfl ow, and capture media from tape.
