ABSTRACT

At Boston University, where Sam teaches and Ashley got her master of fi ne arts, students still shoot a ton of fi lm-primarily 16-mm fi lm using Super-16-mm cameras. As is common in the professional fi lm industry, students at Boston University use double-system recording techniques, where the fi lm camera records the image and a separate sound device records the dialogue and other audio. The picture and sound are then synced in Media Composer, and the students edit their projects using all of the techniques we’ve covered in this book.
