ABSTRACT
The term low budget means different things to different people. For a major studio or a large production company, a budget of $10 million is considered “low” and such films really are not worth the effort. It is not economically feasible to produce them within the studio system. For the independent filmmaker, on the other hand, a $10 million budget usually feels very comfortable. Nevertheless, today’s independent producers and filmmakers can raise even such a “small” amount only with extreme difficulty.
