ABSTRACT
Titles are an important component of every video project, and Vegas Pro 8 provides a multitude of title-generating options. Vegas offers two internal titling tools, and users can import motion graphics from third-party titling tools or from Flash-generating apps. Static graphic titles may be imported with alpha channels and animated in Vegas using various compositing tools. The ProType Titler is a new tool found in Vegas Pro 8, adding to the existing standard titling tool. There are several additional tools found in the ProType Titler that aren’t apparent at first glance. Controlling individual characters is a powerful feature; this is managed through parent/child relationships. Navigation between sentences, words, and characters is achieved either using shortcut keys or clicking icons on the titler tool bar. Shift+Enter navigates downward until the lowest child level is achieved. Titles may be saved, shared, and transferred from one computer system to another.
