ABSTRACT
The subject of DVD authoring is the basis of entire books. This chapter will illustrate easy menu design tips that will give any DVD project more character, impact,
and distinction by using Photoshop. Digital Versatile Disc or DVD is the fastest-growing
format the planet has ever seen – including VHS and CD. It’s no surprise when you
consider the quality of the video and audio it can hold. All videophile and audiophile
interests aside, the real innovation of the DVD format lies within its interactive
potential. If you have ever rented or bought a movie on DVD, you’ve seen the menu
pages. Different titles or movies will have their own unique menu layout and inter-
face design. A well-planned and executed menu layout will have a similar feel and
tone of the content contained on the disc, (hopefully) wetting your appetite or raising
your curiosity.
