ABSTRACT

This chapter details how to replace a sky. Editors need to select the Quick Selection tool from the Tools panel and deselect the Auto Enhance option in the Options bar. They then drag the tool across the sky to make an intital selection of it and zoom in to 100% and choose the Selection Brush tool from the Tools panel and the mask option in the Options bar. Editors need to select the Gradient tool from the Tools panel. In the Options bar choose the Black, White and Linear gradient options and an Opacity setting of 100%. Click and drag the gradient from the top of the image to a position just above the horizon line. They need to hold down the Shift key to constrain the gradient. This will give the sky depth and ensure it retains its drama above the buildings in the foreground.
