ABSTRACT

The growth of applied sport, exercise, and performance psychology (SEPP) has been developing for over 70 years (Kornspan, 2009). During that same time span, we have seen the creation of microwave ovens, handheld calculators, cell phones, and personal computers. It was inevitable that the growth of technology would impact the field of applied SEPP. In the past 10 years, the use of mobile and web-based technology has increased at an incredible rate that some people find difficult to keep up with. Before discussing the technological tools available for use in service delivery, there needs to be an understanding of how people make the decision to either use or reject the technology that is available to them.
