ABSTRACT

In chapters 19 and 20, the authors discussed how technology has changed the landscape of Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology (SEPP) service delivery. The same holds true for education and training. Price and Kirkwood (2011) found that technology used for educational purposes can: increase flexibility, access, and student engagement; improve assessment, feedback, and skill development; provide a means of reinforcement or revision; promote reflection upon learning and personal development; support interaction and collaboration with peers; help students make links between theory and practice; and prepare students for their careers and personal lives. Thus, SEPP would be wise to consider how technology can effectively be integrated into education and training models and practices.
