ABSTRACT

THE Hebrew records, anxious to laud the power of this great ruler, give the impression that Suleiman expanded his kingdom enormously, and over-expansion has often been suggested as the main cause of the rapid decline and fall of the Kingdom of Suleiman. When we examine these Hebrew records, we find that there were no wars of expansion. King David had expanded the kingdom till its borders reached Mesopotamia to the north, and Egypt to the south. Suleiman, by wise policies, strengthened that kingdom, but did not commit the mistake of former Middle Eastern rulers.
