The Paradox of Immigration Attitudes in Luxembourg: A Pan-European Comparison

Although about 64 percent of the labor force and 37 percent of the population of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg was born abroad, public opinion in Luxembourg is less xenophobic than in any other western European Union country outside of Scandinavia (see Figure 3.1). Anti-immigrant violence is very rare, moreover, and no politically infl uential neo-Nazi or antiimmigrant political party exists.
