ABSTRACT

While the focus of this book has been abrogation in the Qur'an, it would be fitting to round off our study with a brief examination of abrogation in the Sunna. In principle, there is no difficulty whatsoever associated with this concept. Indeed, it is only to be expected that the Prophet would at times change a command he had given or that God, through the Qur'an and/or other forms of revelation, would override an instruction that the Prophet had issued.
