ABSTRACT

Organizational integrity is more than the sum of its parts: getting the constituent elements right produces an outcome that includes both direct and indirect benefits. Coherence becomes itself an added value that serves to reinforce organizational integrity. It follows, conversely, that failure to get the constituent elements right generates a risk for the organization, perhaps better expressed as a continuum of risk ranging from sub-optimal achievement to potentially catastrophic consequence. This chapter argues that viewing integrity from the perspective of risk is an approach with the potential to achieve coherent integrity management and thus an organizational environment which fosters professional standards, confidence and trust.
