Emerging Research in Disaster Resiliency and Sustainability: Implications for Policy and Practice

Disaster resiliency has gained signifi cant attention among scholarly and practitioner communities in the U.S. and abroad. The chapters in this book provide diff erent defi nitions of the concept of resiliency and off er individual, organizational, and community-level analyses. In addition, the book empirically examines disaster resiliency from an interdisciplinary perspective and applies diff erent methods of analysis (e.g., quantitative, qualitative, and network analyses). The chapters identify a range of factors, including policy tools , and governance mechanisms that are important for improving disaster resiliency.
