ABSTRACT
As already noted, these intergenerational models share a concern with patterns across generations with the psychoanalytic/experiential models already discussed (IIA). History is important here, as it is also in the psychoanalytically informed models (less so with the experiential). Yet Bowenian and contextual approaches are distinctive in their concern with differentiation and with rebalancing the relationship between the individual and the system.
