ABSTRACT

In September 2012, there were only a few signatories to the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and other responsible investment (RI) institutions in Estonia and Poland. As of March 2014, there are three PRI signatories in Estonia and none in Poland. The departure of the Polish institutions demonstrates the fragility of RI in the region; nevertheless, RI is growing in Poland. These two countries will be analyzed in detail in this chapter. Outside of these two countries, as of March 2014 the author is aware of one RI service provider in Bulgaria, Copula Capital Advisors, which is not, however, a PRI signatory. 1
