ABSTRACT

Hungary's youth considers integrity an important but unrewarding trait. This is one of the discouraging findings of a 2011 survey of 1,000 young people between the ages of 15 and 29 that was carried out by Transparency International Hungary and the Hungarian think tank Kutatópont. 2 In light of the helplessness many young people feel when confronted with corruption, targeted campaigns and ethics instruction in schools, among other measures, are required to change attitudes about corruption and strengthen the integrity of the future generation of Hungary's politicians, civic leaders and businesspeople. Hungary 19%

of people see the education system as corrupt or highly corrupt.
