I.Imprisonment IbrahimNassifElWardanywasarrestedonFebruary20thon thesceneofhiscrime.Duringthepreliminaryinquiryhewas confinedinanisolatedcellintheMouskyPoliceStation,under astrongguard.
OnMarch3rdhewastransferredtotheprisonoftheAppeal Court,whereheremaineduntilhisexecution.Specialprecautionswereadopted.TheGovernoroftheprisonwasaCopt,and everyreliancecouldbeplaceduponhim.Reliablewarderswere selectedtoguardWardany'scell,andseveralprisonofficials,of knownnationalistsympathies,weretemporarilytransferred.In hisprogresstoandfromtheCourthewasguardedbyanother speciallychosenCopticofficerandfourEuropeanconstables.
