ABSTRACT

This chapter sets out to discuss the current policy agenda for Teacher Education for Inclusion in Europe and outline how this presents both challenges, but also clear opportunities for development. It presents information from:

European Union policies for education that impact upon the education of all European teachers;

The European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education project focussing upon Teacher Education for Inclusion (TE4I) to highlight some of the opportunities and challenges within its member countries in addressing the agenda indicated by European-level policies.
