ABSTRACT

Girard carries on in this vein, telling us about ‘the superior dignity of statehood’, and so on. So rebranding is OK for a corporation but not for a nation. In other words corporations change, merge, divest, invest and rebrand and reinvent themselves but nations do not change, they are immutable. Their verities are eternal. How do you relate this view to the historical reality that almost every nation has reinvented itself as its regimes and circumstances have changed?
