The series title Disappearing World has sometimes aroused unfavourable comment from anthropologists for being inappropriate, but during the course of this one-hour film (producer/director: Debbie Christie, anthropologist: Tone Bringa, first screened on ITV, 11 May), we watch a world literally disappear before our eyes.
