ABSTRACT

Chris Weeks, a DHL international logistics manager, designed ways to leverage the company’s logistics expertise to help airport managers in disaster-ravaged locations coordinate relief planes and the distribution of aid resources (Sonenshein, Chapter 3). Dr. Ibrahim Abouleish created an innovative organic farming initiative committed to the holistic development of employees, the local community, and Egyptian society more generally (Rimac, Mair,  & Battilana, Chapter 4). Th e Central Indiana Community Foundation, a grassroots social justice philanthropy, focuses on trust-building by engaging with the local neighborhood, asking questions, and listening to the concerns of the constituencies they are trying to serve (Meyerson  & Wernick, Chapter 5). For 18 years, Nadia Kanegai has used her personal salary and holidays to support community projects that have touched over 10,000 lives in Vanuatu, an island nation in the South Pacifi c (Branzei, Chapter 2).
