Conclusion

In this book we set out to draw together the thinking and themes which emerged from the ESRC seminar series. In this concluding chapter we reflect on a number of the key themes that transcend the individual chapters in this volume. We focus our attention on three key areas:

organisation of the discipline;

advances and challenges within the field;

key issues for the field.
