ABSTRACT
The contributions in this section have provided insight into the way in which the determining influences of disciplinary cultures on academic practice are being mediated and in some cases eclipsed by other features of the global higher education landscape. These catalysts for change are becoming increasingly important in explaining the emphases in practice that contemporary higher education now has.
