ABSTRACT

This section centers on how we manage conflict in personal, intimate and social relationships. Many scholars and researchers have focused their efforts on examining how we initiate/form new relationships, in addition to how we terminate unhappy and destructive relationships. Our research efforts are still lacking in the process of maintaining interpersonal relationships. The meta-analyses in this section range from couples’ condom use to homophobia to using accounts to demand/withdraw communication. All of these meta-analyses deal with predispositions to communicate. Central to relational maintenance is how we communicate to our partners, friends and spouses.
