ABSTRACT
The publication in 1925 of The New Negro: An Interpretation, edited by Alain Locke, remains a significant landmark in American intellectual and cultural history. It contained contributions by some of the leading intellectuals of the period, three of whom, Dr. E. Franklin Frazier, President Charles S. Johnson and Dr. Arthur Huff Fauset, are also participating in this Annual Conference of the Division of Social Sciences.
