ABSTRACT

The dilemma of rural electrification for developing nations is that those who already have electricity are fairly well off and demand that their service be continued at the lowest possible cost. The populations that do not have electricity are poor people living in regions where it is expensive for distribution companies to serve. The electricity companies have an almost thankless task to accomplish. This involves keeping their existing customers happy with the highest quality service while simultaneously making the expensive investments to provide electricity for the remaining people in the country.
