ABSTRACT
T He chapters in this book lead the reader through forests in Asia, Africa, and South America, describing both persistent inequities in forest management and efforts to make beneficial changes therein. We have tried to provide a flavor of life in tropical forests, with all the disruption, dilemmas, and change that characterize forest peoples’ lives. And we have tried to provide some practical guidance for others with similar interests.
