ABSTRACT
Water is essential for life, but it is scarce in many parts of the world, particularly in arid and semiarid regions. Even in some water-blessed countries, the uneven spatial distribution of water resources leads to water stress in some areas. Water is scarce in Jordan, and dealing with such scarcity is thus a major policy issue.
