ABSTRACT
AS BENJAMIN FRANKLIN astutely observed, “we will know the wealth of water when the well runs dry.” In Florida, that day is rapidly approaching because of both quality and quantity concerns. Although water demand has become the issue du jour, the discussion has been palliative at best. Root causes of Florida's water dilemma are ignored while clever diatribes skew the debate to mask difficult choices that must be made.
