ABSTRACT

This chapter is structured in relation to a series of hypothetical or actual criticisms against the concept of co-evolution. In each section I attempt to develop a response that demonstrates the continued validity, relevance, usefulness, viability, appropriateness and realism of the co-evolution hypothesis. In addition to the critical arguments dealt with in this chapter it would certainly also be worth addressing the plausible criticism that Hasselt and/or Brucker Land are sustainable by themselves. Since this would not necessarily be lethal for the concept of co-evolution proper, this discussion has been made available on the website of the co-evolution initiative at www.coevolution.info.
