The main problem is seed shattering at harvest. Yields varied from 1.5 to 2.5t/ha of seeds with oil contents around 20 per cent with 60 per cent calendic acid and 30 per cent linoleic acid. This oil displays important viscosity with high refraction index. Its ease of drying is of value in paints.
