ABSTRACT

Team games are important for the child with a disability since they allow the child to be a contributing part of the group. Everyone wants to be a valued team member, but this is especially true for those who are handicapped. Team games can do much to help disabled individuals gain physical fitness and muscular strength, as well as social skills. Disabled children have limited opportunities to be with other children in activities which are mutually enjoyable. Therefore, if at all possible, these children should not be denied the opportunity to be part of a team. 1 , 2
