ABSTRACT
Chapter 2 described general methodologies for biomass assessment. This chapter looks at the most important methods for accurately measuring the supply of woody biomass for energy, and in particular techniques for:
• forest mensuration; • determining the weight and volume of trees; • measuring the growing stock and yield of trees; and • measuring the height and bark of trees.
