ABSTRACT
The focus of this chapter is on the estimation of woody biomass production for use as a source of energy. The sources of woody biomass for energy include forests, tree plantations and agro-forests. Biomass can be harvested in a sustainable manner from primary (or secondary) forests or produced sustainably in plantations.
